What we look at, and where it comes from

The free check looks at what someone searching for a truck shop near you would see. It only uses public information about your business. It takes about a minute, and each part shows up as soon as it’s done.

The seven checks

• Your Google listing. Your category, hours, phone, website, photos, and review count, straight from Google’s business data.
• Your reviews + replies. Your newest reviews and how many have a reply from you.
• 3 shops near you. The three nearby independent shops that come up for the same searches, with the same numbers, so you have something to compare against.
• Google map results. Where you show up on the map for searches like “off road shop” and “lift kit installation” in your city.
• Your builds vs. Google. Whether your listing has recent Google posts, and whether your site links an Instagram. We don’t read Instagram until you connect it.
• Your website. Your home page and a couple of service pages: what they say you build, for which trucks, and how fast the page loads on a phone.
• ChatGPT & Gemini. We ask each one a question a customer might ask, like “best off-road build shop in your city,” and note whether your shop is named.

How we score

The score runs from 0 to 100. It’s our current best guess at what matters, and we’ll adjust it as we learn:

• Google listing complete: 25
• Reviews (replies 10, volume and recency 10): 20
• Google posts: 15
• Map results: 15
• ChatGPT & Gemini: 15
• Website: 10

We show the average for the three shops near you next to yours, so the number means something.

What we won’t pretend

• If we can’t check something, the card says “couldn’t check.” We don’t guess.
• Map results and AI answers move around. We report what we saw on the day we checked.
• We don’t promise rankings. Nobody honest can.

Your check is private

Each check has its own unguessable link, and search engines are told not to index it. If you’d rather we never check your shop again, use Remove my shop. Questions: contact@gearheadgrowth.com.
